CHICAGO, IL – January 26, 2015 – Eastern Idaho IPA, an Independent Physician Association (IPA) based in Idaho Falls, has chosen Valence Health, a leading provider of integrated population health solutions and value-based care services to deploy a privately labeled, web-based application to reduce its administrative burden and facilitate contracting with health insurance partners. With vElect, which allows physicians to compare fee schedules to Medicare benchmarks, Eastern Idaho IPA will ensure a quick, easy-to-use, effective process with minimal paperwork.
“We’re excited to partner with Valence Health to achieve our vision for a streamlined messenger model process,” said Dr. Gary Wallace, board chairman for Eastern Idaho IPA. “We have a record of working closely with our physicians to provide solutions that improve quality and manage healthcare costs. We chose Valence Health because of their data management experience and track record of helping clients produce results. Their efficient and compliant web-based solution enables us to quickly improve the process and offers value to our physicians and ultimately our patients.”
With vElect fully implemented, Eastern Idaho IPA’s physicians will have internet access to a solution that automates the independent election process of payor contracts for physicians, and simplifies their ability to conduct fee schedule analyses with multiple customizable views. vElect creates an auditable electronic process for selecting and declining payer contracts and assists in demonstrating and tracking compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) messenger model regulations.
Under the agreement, vElect serves as an analytics engine that provides fee-schedule comparisons using volume-weighted, specialty-specific utilization; compares Medicare fee schedules by geographic area, code, and volume-weighted, average percentage of Medicare; creates and displays customized utilization code lists; and sorts by Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code numeric order or service distribution.
“With vElect, Eastern Idaho IPA has automated processes that ultimately give physicians more time for care delivery,” said Valence Health CEO Phil Kamp. “We are excited to help them realize their vision and are confident that Valence Health’s solution will further advance their initiatives into cost and quality control.”
