No EHR system is infallible. Severe weather can disrupt service along an entire coast, computer systems crash, viruses and even ransomware can cripple your hospital’s ability to perform daily operations. In short, downtime can occur at any time. In order to conduct business as usual during these periods, It’s crucial that your organizations downtime forms remain current and compliant.

As you may know, if you are building order sets in AuthorSpace, you can package up those order sets and apply a template for downtime forms. We’ve recently introduced new functionality that enables you to export your customized Zynx content into rich text format (.rtf) files compatible with Microsoft Word.

Additional features include:

  • Easy to edit and change, providing you with the most updated content when EHR downtime occurs.
  • Can be stored and edited offline for updates and maintenance.
  • Option to store your headers and footers on your local computer (or on an intranet website such as SharePoint), or continue to use the AuthorSpace Content Explorer as a shared repository

Downtime forms and a data repository for content that can be accessed from outside the EHR are definitely a need for all organizations. We’ve developed training videos to help your teams to understand the downtime procedures, and our Product Support Specialist Team is available if you would like to learn more about the process.
