Boston-based Steward Health Care System entered into an agreement with Meditech to deploy the vendor's cloud-based web EHR at eight hospitals, Meditech announced Dec. 5.
Steward Health Care System has used Meditech's legacy platforms for roughly 19 years. Meditech officials said the eight hospital sites will expand the company's presence within the Steward Health Care System to include Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida by 2018.
"It's exciting to be deploying solutions built for the web to aid in improving quality and population health, while continuing to drive costs down," said Julie Berry, CIO of Steward Health Care System. "Expanding our Meditech EHR throughout the organization was a key component in moving us toward a more integrated healthcare delivery."
