A fun aspect of HIMSS is that attendees not only get to learn about the new technologies and innovations being showcased, but also a little something about the personality and character of the respective companies. Nowhere is that more apparent than in what companies choose to do with their booth space.
There is a myriad of creativity and ingenuity that went into booth planning this year, all over the show floor. Everywhere you look there’s great aesthetics aligning with great missions. We took some time to walk around and pinpoint a few of our favorites. If you find yourself in the exhibit space, be sure to check these out!
Epic’s booth is, dare we say…epic.
A modern yet rustic theme throughout, Epic has utilized their space well for impromptu chats and meetings while adding personal touches of themed art and jungle animals. They even have a cozy (animated) fireplace to help you feel right at home. Employees are well-stationed around the perimeter to answer questions or just have a friendly chat.
IBM Watson Health
Hopefully you got a chance to check out CEO Ginni Rommetty’s inspiring opening keynote Monday morning, but if not, there’s still time to visit IBM’s incredibly “earthy” booth. We’re lucky to be neighbors at HIMSS this year and everyone agrees it’s helping to bring a cool and peaceful vibe to an often chaotic conference!
HIMSS is non-stop and coffee is fuel. (Seriously, it should be required.) Good news! Optum has an actual coffee bar where you can sit down, take a load off, sip some java and learn what they’re bringing to the table this year in terms of innovation. Win-win.
Cybersecurity Command Center
Data security is a huge theme this year. Be sure to swing by the “Cybersecurity Command Center” located in the back of the exhibit hall. Featuring Cylance, FairWarning, GE Healthcare and Microsoft, there’s so much to learn and a lot of excuses to use the #HITSecurity hashtag!
Clear your mind. Shoot some hoops. FlexPrint — an independent company that offers managed print services — has pop-a-shot! Your legs must need a break from all the walking, so give your arms a turn and chat with the friendly folks manning the booth.
InTouch Health, a telehealth company, poses the question “Why BUILD it when you can BUY it!”
They built the cupcakes. You eat them. Stop by for a treat and chat with their informative staff.
BONUS – Best selfie opportunity
Astro, the Salesforce mascot, is making regular appearances at their booth! Swing by and say hello or snap a quick selfie!
